This tour will be a simple paddle from the Pine Grove boat ramp near the north end of Lake Monroe. We will explore the location where Bald Eagles were reintroduced into Indiana by viewing the hacking tower and a nearby nest in the North Fork Waterfowl Resting Area. We will also look for herons, shorebirds, and songbirds (like the Prothonotary Warbler).
IndiGo Birding provides kayaks, paddles, and life jackets, but you are welcome to bring your own if you would prefer ($15 discount). No experience is necessary, but some agility is required to get in and out of a kayak and the strength to paddle against possible winds. Transportation is provided from Bloomington for those that need it. In the case of inclement weather, the kayaking tour will be canceled or postponed.
