Treat yourself and your family to a special experience: a night hike under a full moon at Sycamore Land Trust’s Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve. Beanblossom Bottoms is nearly 800 acres of floodplain forest with some open wetlands… perfect habitat for the Barred Owl and the American Woodcock. Join me for a hike on the boardwalk in search of a displaying woodcock. It’s courtship flight is one of the truly unique mating behaviors of an Indiana bird. We’ll also listen for hooting owls and calling frogs. Bring the whole family (ages 5 and up) for only $20. We will meet at the Marsh parking lot on the north side of Bloomington at 7 pm to caravan. Limited to 20 people. Please register ahead of time.
In case of inclement weather, the hike will be rescheduled for the following night, April 10.
