Celebrate Earth Day by visiting Goose Pond FWA in western Greene County, widely considered one of the premier birding spots in Indiana because of the unique habitats it provides. We will search for grassland and wetland birds like the American Bittern, Black-necked Stilt, Dickcissel, and more. The beauty and sounds of the marsh at dusk can be unforgettable. Before sunset we will focus our time on finding shorebirds and learning to identify songbirds by their songs.
I will provide drinks and some snacks; you are encouraged to bring a small dinner as well. The tour will depart from Bloomington, but arrangements can be made to meet participants along the route or in Linton. We will be back in Bloomington by 10:00.
