The second half of April is when the migratory songbirds return to Indiana for breeding season. We will walk the trails of Burkhart Creek County Park west of Martinsville in search of these beautiful songsters. The park has 83 acres of mixed habitats adjacent to Morgan-Monroe State Forest… perfect for good birding. I will focus on teaching bird song, from the basic cardinal song to some of the more elaborate warblers. We will spend the majority of the time walking, though it will not be strenuous hiking.
I will provide transportation for up to 5 people (3 spots remaining) at $20/person. Others can join the outing by meeting at the park at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required.
